ABOUT OAHU GROUP THERAPY
Amber graduated from Chaminade University of Honolulu with a Master’s in Counseling Psychology, specializing in Mental Health Counseling. She began Oahu Group Therapy to highlight the vital importance of connection and community. She offers individual counseling sessions and organizes group therapy and community resources.
Her drive to utilize community resources and group therapy came from her background in case management on Oahu and exposure to the current housing, financial, medical, social, and mental health resources on the island. Amber is dedicated to building a resource for Oahu and other communities that can offer a place to build meaningful relationships and explore community resources. Her passion consists of an innate draw to offer a compassionate ear to those in need and the natural ability to highlight the best in others.
With an undergraduate degree in Fine Art, Amber has a unique and colorful outlook on therapy techniques and offers a combination of traditional and nontraditional methods. Dance and art have always been a valuable outlet in her own life. She has combined counseling training and community resources to offer her own creative and effective approach to counseling. Our Group Therapy team is always growing and Amber co-facilitates with like-minded, compassionate, trained mental health professionals to offer Group Therapy in Honolulu.

What To Expect Your First Visit
For individual therapy, we offer the convenience of in-person or telehealth sessions, allowing you to connect in the space that is most comfortable for you. Before your first session, you’ll receive intake paperwork via our secure platform, SimplePractice, where you can provide important details about your background, concerns, and goals. During the session, Amber will take the time to get to know you, understand your unique circumstances, and collaborate with you to create a tailored treatment plan. The focus is on building a strong therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, valued, and supported.
Group therapy offers a supportive space to connect with others experiencing similar challenges. Before joining a group, Amber carefully vets participants to ensure safety, compatibility, and a positive group dynamic. During your first group session, you’ll be introduced to the group format, guidelines, and the shared goals of the session. Whether the group is focused on anxiety, grief, or another topic, you can expect a compassionate and non-judgmental environment where you feel safe to share and grow.
